Q. How much concrete will I need?

A. If you don’t already have a decision on the size, we can gladly come out and give an idea on site at the time of an estimate.

Q. Will I need a permit?

A. Permit issue will be determined at the time of estimate.

Q. Why does concrete crack?

A. Most of the time concrete cracks because its tensile strength is lower than the tensile stresses it is subjected to. There are numerous factors that contribute (usually by acting in combination) to the actual fracture. They can be grouped based on their the occurrence time as before, during or after the hardening process. In simple terms concrete moves around and because it is a solid it must crack. Control joints are placed in the concrete at various locations so that when it does crack it crack down those lines.

Q. Does ABC Concrete, Inc. do decorative concrete?

A. Yes.

Q. Should I water my concrete, after it’s finished?

A. YES. By doing this it allows your concrete to cure slow, this allows for less cracking. Use water several times a day for the initial 48hrs.

Q. What types of finishes are there?

A. Broom finish, smooth finish, with or without picture frame (please see our portfolio)

Q. How long before concrete is cured, set and ready to be walked or driven on?

Q. Does ABC Concrete, Inc. do resurfacing?

A. Yes. However if the existing surface has lost it’s structural integrity it must be removed.

Q. Does ABC Concrete, Inc. remove stains?

A. It is possible to remove some stain. However if the stains have be beaded there will be no way to remove them.

Q. Will I need a pump?

A. If we cannot pull a concrete truck directly to the area without out running over existing concrete, irrigation lines, or septic tanks you will need a pump. Pumping prices are normallt included in our bid, but do not hesitate to ask.

Q. What is a sealer, will I need a sealer, and how can I get it?

A. Sealer is a chemical product applied to the surface of the concrete to provided protection, not a guarantee but a preventative measure. Sealer is optional. ABC Concrete, Inc. can provide and apply to your concrete.

Q. What are the differences between wire and fiber mesh?

A. Wire mesh and fiber mesh are used interchangeable, however ABC Concrete, Inc. uses fiber mesh because of the technical advance makeup of the fiber mesh. Although wire mesh can be used upon customers request.
